Uyi stood aghast as he surveyed the situation before him. He looked at his wife as she sat on the floor in the corner as her head collapsed over her chest and her arms drooped onto the floor beside her. He could see she was in so much pain but was simply too weak to shed any tears. His eyes moved back to the bed where the body of the child lay lifeless consumed by the hunger that had plagued the land relentlessly. -
